Document library migration into Bynder and scoping of a Drupal connector

Migrating a multi-country product documentation library into Bynder, then designing the Drupal connector feeding the group sites.

The engagement

A European industrial group distributed its product documentation (PDFs, catalogues, firmware, software packages) through a multi-stage chain feeding its country websites on Drupal. The source library export was delivered over SFTP as a split archive with an accompanying metadata catalogue. The constraint was twofold: migrate everything without loss, and avoid saturating the server's disk during the operation.

We built an import chain that unpacks, validates and pushes to Bynder in batches, attaching each duplicate to its primary file rather than deleting it. Processing frees disk space as it goes, staying within the available envelope. Every run produces a line-by-line report so any batch can be replayed or audited.

The import completed without errors and without orphans, and a full DAM dump was delivered alongside the migration report. We then scoped the Drupal ⇄ Bynder connector: publication rules, metadata mapping onto CMS fields, and a costed technical dossier handed to the client for decision.
